WHAT HAVE BEEN ACCOMPLISHED:

JMEC has been structural engineer a
roadway and drainage improvements on Panoramic Way begins at the Oakland City boundary and extending to the intersection of Prospect Street and Canyon Road.  It also includes Mosswood Road, Arden Road and part of Dwight Way.  The project is funded by the City's Measure M for street repaving/rehabilitation and related green infrastructure.

Due to soil creep over time and ineffective drainage system, several retaining walls and hillside slopes within the City's right-of-way are in serious structural distress, causing the retaining walls to rotate and cracking of adjacent roadway.  Two locations that post safety concerns that JMEC has designed mitigation measures included stabilitizing more than 600' of roadway and installing metal beam guardrails near 161 Panoramic Way, and construct a new 70' of soldier pile retaining wall with cable railings in front of the existing leaning wall to stabilize the rodadway at Orchard Lane on Panoramic Way.  The historical architecture at Orchard Lane is preserved.
